Installation in Windows
- Download the installation file from the website
- Follow through the procedure of the installer
- Create a new desktop shortcut, pointing to the "*.bat" file (or "*.jar" file) under the $TOOL_DIR
- Right click on the newly created shortcut, choose "Properties" and click "Change icon" then navigate to the "*.ico" file under the $TOOL_DIR
Installation in Mac-OS
- Download the installtion file from the website
- Follow through the procedure of the installer
- By default, a new $TOOL_DIR will be created under the /Applications/EECircle/ folder
- When the tool is launched the first time, use Finder to navigate to the "*.app" file under the $TOOL_DIR
- While the tool is active, right click on the its shown in the dock, and choose "Options::Keep in Dock"
Installation in Linux/UNIX
- Download the installtion file from the website
- If the particular system has GUI support for file browsing and navigation, a double click on the installation will launch the installer with JavaTM
- Otherwise, user needs to use a terminal window, navigate to the directory where the installer resides, and type "java -jar <full_name_of_installer>" to launch the installer
- After the installation, the user may add the $TOOL_DIR to the system path variable, then type a command matching the shell script in the $TOOL_DIR to start running the tool
Uninstallation
- Since the tool doesn't install any of its software components in directories other than $TOOL_DIR, it can be cleanly uninstalled by simply removing $TOOL_DIR
